This last week, we have had 10 pounds of pork belly curing in our fridge. Two different kinds actually: pepper and garlic. And there was another 10 pounds of pork belly curing in our friend Mandy's fridge. She's an over achiever and did three kinds: molasses, honey and maple. On Saturday, those 20 pounds of pork belly were smoked all day and turned into bacon. Matt and Mandy have been planning this bacon party for weeks. Matt took the savory dishes and Mandy came up with the sweet dishes. All day Sunday the two of them cooked up 13 dishes that were DELICIOUS! The menu consisted of garlic pork belly sliders, bacon wrapped shrimp, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, salad with molasses bacon/balsamic vinaigrette, bacon carbonara, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, bacon baklava, maple bacon ice cream, pineapple bacon upside down cake, candied bacon, and chocolate dipped bacon.

Just some of the yummy dishes we enjoyed
Are you kidding me with this sweetness?!
The kiddos decided to make a fort right in the middle of the kitchen. Luckily all the cooking was done. :)
The big question at the end of the night was, "What's the next ingredient?!"
